Contact Jim by phone, email, or the contact form to the right. Since Jim works alone, he can’t always answer the calls or emails immediately, but rest assured, he checks his messages often and will respond generally the same business day. Once contact is made, a discussion of the details of the specific furniture piece you are looking for will take place and when sufficient detail is acquired, the design process will begin.
The preferred method of communication at this point will generally be via email so that a “paper trail” is provided and all details as discussed will be available through out the process. Sketches will be produced generally in perspective with all critical dimensions noted to confirm that you, the client, are indeed getting exactly the furniture desired. Wood choices and fine detail including hardware will be confirmed as well. Though this can involve several communications, clients often enjoy being involved in the process. Once the design is complete and meets with your approval, a detailed quotation will be provided. If the quotation is satisfactory, a deposit of 50% of the total amount is required prior to commencement of construction. A target date for completion will be established at this point. The remaining 50% and any applicable taxes are due upon completion at Jim’s shop and prior to shipping. Shipping arrangements will be discussed at this point. Digital photographs of your furniture taken during construction will be available and can be sent to you via email upon request. If you are in the area of Jim’s shop, feel free to call and arrange a time to stop by and discuss your furniture piece at anytime before, during or after construction. The piece will be signed and dated in an inconspicuous location.Once the furniture piece arrives, ensure that no damage has occurred during transit. Jim always follows up with inquiries as to the condition of the piece and your level of satisfaction. If unforeseen problems occur with the piece, please contact Jim. These will be resolved. Instructions for care of your furniture will accompany the piece or will be sent via email in advance. Then simply enjoy it. |
